Since its first voyage back in 2010,
Carpenters Shipping has made Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu, their primary focus. Despite a few changes to Carpenters Shipping’s service structure over the years, that focus (on Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu) did not change.

A combination of break bulk and containerised cargo from Asia to Papua New Guinea by Carpenters Shipping[/caption]
Specific to South East Asia ports, Carpenters Shipping connect Papua New Guinea via 2 services, i.e. SEA and NSS. Both the service combines to provide an 11 day service frequency from South East Asia base ports, Port Klang, Singapore and Jakarta.
Cargo from other ports, such as Penang, Pasir Gudang, Ho Chi Minh, Belawan, Surabaya, Jakarta, Laem Chabang, Chittagong, Mumbai etc, is transshipped via Port Klang or Singapore into Papua New Guinea.
Transit time from Port Klang to Motukea (Port Moresby) is estimated to be 17 days, Lae (15 to 19 days), Rabaul (29 days) and Madang (32 days). Both breakbulk and containerized cargo is accepted on the service. Vessels deployed for the service are all self-geared and tweendeckers.
The service is supported by Carpenters Shipping’s own agency network in Port Moresby, Lae and Rabaul, set up in 2012.
